Role- Commercial Excellence Leader (CEL)

Reporting to- General Manager Sales (NSA Region)

Location- Mumbai, India

Role Overview & Purpose-

The CEL role is a critical role to strategize and enable the flawless delivery of overall commercial performance.
The CEL will lead the optimisation of “tools, systems and support” which enables the business to fulfil its short-term commercial objectives

Responsibility & Accountability:

Ensure Sales Force Effectiveness and Support Commercial Execution of Established Targets:
• Implement standardized systems, tools, analytics, performance dashboards and quantitative and qualitative KPIs for sales across the different regions.
• Establish appropriate metrics to monitor and support flawless execution.
• Work with Regional Marketing and Regional Service to ensure full alignment with Sales Cadence
• With Sales Leadership, set the context and commercial parameters to ensure day to day escalations are handled promptly through the regions.

Lead on Commercial Business Planning & Performance Feedback:
• Data & information support
• Sales Projection
• Demand Planning
• Drive area monthly Commercial Management Processes to ensure establishment of “one set of numbers”.
• Report on month-to-month changes in business and market dynamics, outlining potential opportunities and vulnerabilities.
• Identify opportunities to increase demand for our products together with the manager (close collaboration with marketing).
• Act as subject matter expert in our CRM softwares.

Training and Development of Strategic Capabilities
• Work with Commercial Business Operations Team in Region and Sales Operation Teams in country/Region level to identify process or learning gaps. In turn work with relevant stakeholders to identify improvement plans.
• Define key competencies for the various functions
• Drive periodical assessment of competencies on individual employee / job functions.

Person Requirements

This role requires a strong commercial leader with rounded experience in a complex organization
• An approachable influencer, with the instinct to improve the current situation through people engagement & development.
• Process oriented, with strong planning and organisational skills
• Global travel is expected to be up to 35% of the time.

Knowledge, skills, and Experience-

• Background in the electrical industry of 10+ years
• Sales leadership experience minimum of 3 years is a must
• Excellent project management capabilities
• Bachelor or Masters’ Degree
• A fluent speaker and writer of business English
